tapping into tagging

I'm a bit lazy when it comes to tagging. I enjoy the benefits of tapping into the communal tag clouds of sites such as del.icio.us and diigo to find out what is particularly new and interesting, (and I should remember to use the slvchat bookmarks on del.icio.us more often), but I can rarely be bothered to tag things myself. This is largely due to the perennial password problem - I have so many different password/login combos for various online products that I struggle to remember which combo goes with each site. Thus either I have to always carry my cheatsheet of logins, or it takes me too long to login, so I don't generally bother.

That said, when I do use social bookmarking I tend to use diigo. Unlike del.icio.us, diigo allows users to highlight text and add sticky notes to pages that they mark. It also allows users to form groups around topics of common interest, and to share their bookmarks with diigo friends.

  1. Agreed on the multiple username / password issue. I could, I guess, have the same one, but that brings up security issues. Plus, I don't want all my web products to be linked.
